- Cardano has the highest number of average daily development activity
- It has left behind popular alternatives such as Polkadot and Ethereum
- This news comes at a time of growing interest in the blockchain’s developments
Third Generation blockchain platform Cardano is beating other popular blockchains in terms of the highest development activity on Github.
The news broke with a tweet by CryptoDiffer on April 5th 2021. The tweet showed the top 20 blockchains by average daily development activity on Github in the past 30 days. Based on the data, ADA beat other cryptos with a high 513 daily average commits. Kusama (KSM) and Polkadot (DOT) closely followed at 421. Ethereum (ETH) was also among the top scorers, with 305 commits.
In fact, Cardano has topped Github’s list for the last few years. It is an increasingly leading smart contract platform among the emerging options. Moreover, the ADA team has been coming up with a series of exciting updates, mainly over the last month.
To clarify, ADA’s popularity has surged based on the many solutions it offers. For instance, ADA uses an eco-friendly proof-of-stake protocol. Its block production has also recently become 100% decentralized. To add to that, it is now the 5th largest crypto by market cap. Also, Coinbase and Coinbase Pro both list ADA now.
It seems, ADA seems to be giving top competitor ETH a hard time keeping the title for the best smart contract blockchain. Only time will tell which one of the two will end up on top.
